Set it up in three steps

  1. 1. In Claude: add Clodou as a connector

    In Claude on the web, desktop or mobile, open Settings > Connectors > Add custom connector, name it Clodou and paste https://clodou.com/api/mcp. Click Connect, sign in to Clodou, pick the workspace and click Allow. There is no token to copy: the connection shows in Settings > Connect an AI assistant, where you can revoke it.

  2. 2. Elsewhere: use a personal token

    For Claude Code, Cursor, Claude Desktop’s config file and other clients, create a token in Settings, under Connect an AI assistant, and copy it: it is shown once. A token works in one workspace and acts as you. It lasts 30, 90, 365 days, you can hold up to 10 at a time, and you can revoke one at any moment. Replace cld_your_token with it below.

The same safeguards as the chat

  • Approval for sensitive actions. Payments, client emails, deletions, invitations, roles, settings and purchase-order approvals only create a proposal that an owner or admin approves.
  • Undo and a log. Most changes can be undone for 10 minutes, every action appears in Activity, and its Usage tab counts runs from the chat and from assistants.
  • Your rights, nothing more. The token acts as you: the database’s access rules apply to every request. Tokens are stored hashed and can be revoked at any time.
  • No invented amounts. Prices and amounts come from you. Each token is limited to 120 requests a minute.

Questions

What is an MCP server?
MCP (Model Context Protocol) is an open standard that lets an AI assistant use tools from another app. Clodou's MCP server gives your assistant the same tools as the Clodou chat, in your own workspace.
Which assistants work with Clodou?
Claude on the web, desktop and mobile as a custom connector (it signs in with OAuth, there is no token to copy), Claude Code, Claude Desktop with a token (through the mcp-remote bridge), Cursor, and any client that speaks Streamable HTTP with a token or an OAuth sign-in. The ChatGPT connector has not been verified yet.
Can my assistant email clients or record payments on its own?
No. Recording or marking a payment, emailing a client, deleting a task or a draft, inviting someone, changing a role or a workspace setting, and approving a purchase order only create a proposal. An owner or admin approves it in Clodou, under Activity > Waiting for approval.
What does my assistant see?
Only what you can see in that workspace: the token acts as you, and the database's access rules apply to every request. What the assistant reads from Clodou is then processed by your assistant's provider under its own terms.
Is the MCP server included in the Free plan?
Yes. Assistant calls share the workspace's monthly requests with chat messages and receipt readings: 20 on Free, 400 on Solo, 1,500 on Team (150 over the 14-day trial). Each token is limited to 120 requests a minute.
